Jamaica Beach - Touring Galveston Harbor

The last few days were a bit cooler.  On our last full day we decided to take a tour of Galveston Bay via boat from the Historic Galveston Foundation.  Includes was also a self guided tour of the Elissa, a tall ship.  Sadie wanted to see the ship since she is writing a story involving a sailing vessel.

From the bay we saw dolphin, the USS Texas, and the wreck of the SS Selma, a concrete fuel freighter scuttles near the channel.  The crew of the guide boat (Seagull II) were very good and told a good tale.

Afterward we went by The Home Depot and Mom bought some plants.  I decided that when I landscape the backyard I want some flowering ginger.  I have a thing for tropical plants.

Steph and I went shelling,  which was made better due to the recent hurricane.

It is nice that we discovered a way to get the ebikes to the beach across from the resort.

The rest of the day was Lazy River time, BBQ for supper, and just relaxing before we head home.

The trip home was uneventful if driving through Houston can be called that.

We certainly are looking forward to our next trip to Galveston Island

Jamaica Beach, Day 4

Today started slow, as vacation days should.  No real plans other than a bit of shopping and a nap. Quick breakfast and then helped Brandon....
